Coimbatore: Industrialists of The Federation of Coimbatore Industrial Association (FOCIA) participated in a protest which was held today in front of South Taluk office condemning the abnormal price hike of raw materials.

In order to make the representations clear to the state and central government regarding various issues faced by the industrialists, the office bearers of 19 industrial associations of Coimbatore have jointly formed a federation named 'FOCIA'.
Last week the convenors of this federation met the press and said that abnormal price increase of raw materials has pushed them to a crisis. Condemning this price hike, members of 'FOCIA' were involved in protest which was held today in front of South Taluk office, Coimbatore.

During the protest the participants stressed that central government should immediately take steps to reduce the price of raw materials, exclusive loan schemes for micro industrialists should be implemented, government should take immediate step to open the 'SAIL' yard at Coimbatore which was closed temporarily for railway flyover work. They also mentioned that the fly over work was completed two years ago.

FOCIA' Convenors, J. James, S. Surulivel, A. Siva Shanmuga Kumar organised this protest and kept various products such as Wet grinder, Motor Pump set, Air Compressor on road stating that price increase of raw materials has heavily affected the manufacturing process.
