Kamal Haasan will definitely contest in 2021 TN assembly elections

Actor turned politician Kamal Hassan who did not participate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has now announced that he will take part in the upcoming general assembly elections in Tamilnadu.


Coimbatore: Actor-turned politician Kamal Hassan who did not participate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has now announced that he will take part in the upcoming general assembly elections in Tamilnadu.

Kamal Hassan who met with the party members in Madurai on Monday met with the media later. When asked about his next step towards the upcoming assembly elections Kamal Hassan said that he will definitely be contesting this time and that the place that he will be contesting will be announced later.

Kamal Haasan’s political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) had contested in 38 parliamentary constituencies and 19 by election seats in the year 2019. Since Kamal Hassan did not participate in the MP elections it is believed that he will be contesting in the general elections from Chennai.

During the press meet Kamal Hassan clearly mentioned that there is no possibility for an alliance between him and Rajinikanth and that it would be more appropriate to talk about this after December 31st.

Actor Rajinikanth is said to finally announce the details of his party on December 31.

Actor Kamal Haasan also added that he would form an alliance shortly which will MNM the breakthrough we need to compete against AIADMK and DMK.

Kamal Haasan also said that he and Rajinikanth were not competitors in Cinema and will never be in Politics. He mentioned their friendship as "Gollu Dolls" and that they are following completely different paths.

Kamal Haasan also said that he would run his political party on the basis of honesty and that there is no honesty in some political parties now. He also said that many ex-bureaucrats have joined the MNM, and that is because MNM already has the reputation of having been honest officers. He also said that this is the way MNM wants to project itself.

The actor turned politician Kamal Haasan also promised a government without corruption as that was his base agenda. He said that an efficient government is one without any corruption. Kamal Haasan also said that punishing lower level employees for corruption will never solve corruptions completely.

Kamal Haasan was asked about why he did not contest in elections during Jayalalithaa's and Karunanidhi's period? For which he replied that he did not have political ambitions earlier in his life and has now joined politics like his dad who joined politics in his later days.

Kamal Haasan also said that former chief minister MGR asked him to join politics to which he replied that the state has leaders like you and that he will remain in the film industry to continue entertaining the people.
