Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police Department conducted the exams for various uniformed services including second grade police, second grade jailer and postings to join the fire department.
The exam was conducted at the Kongunadu Arts and Science College near GN Mills.The additional superintendent of police Vijaya Karthickraj along with 130 policemen were overlooking the exam conducted yesterday.
Identification cards and entrance tickets were checked thoroughly and all electronic gadgets like phones, smartwatch were not allowed inside the exam centre.
Also keeping in mind the current pandemic situation, the police officials ensured all candidates and officials on duty were wearing a face mask and maintained social distancing. Temperature checks and compulsory hand sanitization were made a compulsory part of the entrance procedure.
Almost 1600 candidates participated in the test which started around 11 am in the morning and went for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
