Sundari participated in the Devarayapuram panchayat elections representing AIADMK and won the elections becoming the panchayat leader of the locality.
The assistant panchayat head Krishnan who also belonged to AIADMK did not co-operate with Sundari and continued to verbally harassed based on her caste.
Sundari who was depressed about this complained to the party officials many times about this and when no serious action was taken about this yesterday visited the Coimbatore district collector and petitioned about her issues.
When she met with the media later, Sundari said with tears that if necessary actions are not taken she has no other option to resign.
Expressing support to Sundari, members of Anaithu Indhiya Jananayaga Madhar Sangam, Indian Students Association and Indhiya Jananayaga Valibar Sangam have also petitioned the District Superintendent to grant special security measures.
