The youth who got in front of the train was hit and dragged for 3 kms says reports.
Coimbatore: A man was hit by the Guwahati - Trivandrum express around 12pm yesterday near the Singanallur - Neelikonampalayam railway crossing.
The man who was hit by the train was dead immediately but his body was stuck to the engine and was dragged on for 3kms.
On seeing the public who screamed after seeing the incident, the express train was stopped near Ramanujam nagar. The railway police were notified and Sub Inspector Yesu arrived at the spot immediately after that. The body of the youth was later sent to the Coimbatore government hospital for autopsy.
Due to this tragic incident,the train was stopped for around ½ hour. The youth caught dead in the accident cannot be identified yet and is said to be around the age of 25. The youth is said to be was in a blue pants and a cement color full sleeve shirt with dots on it.
The police officials have filled a case regarding this and are investigating on why he was in the railway track during that time and whether this tragic death was an accident or a suicide.
