James, District head of Tamil Industrial Organisations in his press meet said that the drastic hike in the price of raw materials are affecting the production companies which in turn affect the other industries depending on them. This heavily affects and endangers the livelihood of around 30,000 companies and 3 lakh employees who solely rely on the job orders.
He also said that small scale industries are already facing a lot of financial troubles as no new loans are being issued during the distressing time of the pandemic.
He also said that the small scale industries will not be able to afford this sudden price hike and will shatter the hopes of all businessmen who are working hard to come out of the loss during the pandemic.
During the press meet he also said that a committee which incorporates small scale and large scale industrialists should be organised to determine and monitor the pricing issued by the central government.
They members of FOCIA are planning for a protest in front of the South Thasildar Office on the 15th of December. The members are protesting on various issues such as to increase the availability of raw materials, loan schemes for small scale industries and to issue about 25% of the loan without collateral and the immediate reopening of SAIL godown.
