Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner inspects works under Smart City project in Periyakulam, Ukkadam. He inspected the works in quickvin at the budget of Rs 39.74 crores for 1.2 km and the works in Phase 1 for 4.3 km at the budget of Rs. 62 crores.
Works of strengthening the banks around the pond has been completed, including natural water treatment plants, bicycle lanes, parks, food counters, floating sidewalks, playgrounds, lighting, paving and removal of water hyacinths were taking place.
After walking around the pond for a distance of about 4 km and inspecting the pond, the commissioner instructed the concerned officials to complete the work without any delay.
Smart City Chief Executive Officer Dr. N. Rajkumar (IRS), City Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Assistant Administrative Engineer Umadevi, Assistant Engineers Saravanakumar and Kalyanasundaram were present.
