Remand Prisoner escapes from Coimbatore GH
Coimbatore: A remand prisoner who was to be imprisoned at Avinashi Sub jail escaped from Coimbatore Government hospital, while he was taken to medical examination.
S Prabhu (20) from Ratnapuri in Coimbatore was arrested on Friday for various cases, including pickpocketing. He was produced in Coimbatore court and the justice ordered to remand him under judicial custody at Avinashi Sub jail.
As per procedure, he was taken today to Coimbatore GH for medical examination where he pushed the woman police and fled the scene.
The Police have registered a case and are looking for the accused. This caused a stir in the area.
