District Farmers announce sit-in at Collectorate in support of farmers protesting in New Delhi
Coimbatore: Extending their support and solidarity to the fellow farmers protesting in New Delhi for over two weeks against the Centre's new farm acts, the farmers from Coimbatore district have announced to stage sit-in protest in front of the Collectorate from Monday.
Joining the badwagon of protests by political parties, trade unions and farmer association's against the Central government for not paying heed to farmers protest and repealing the three controversial farm acts, farmers from Coimbatore district have announced of a protest on Monday.

The announcement comes after an executive meeting was held in Coimbatore on behalf of the All India Farmers' Protest Coordinating Committee condemning the Central government against the three farm acts.
Addressing the media, Co-ordinating Committee Chairman S. Palanisamy said, "Support for the farmers protest is growing across the country. As part of this, it has been decided to hold a sit-in protest on December 14 in front of the Coimbatore Collector's Office. In the next phase, we have decided to create awareness among the farmers in suburban regions including Pollachi and Mettupalayam through distribution of leaflets explaining on the plight of the protesting farmers in New Delhi and the I'll effects of the three farm acts."

The meeting was attended by farmers including Tamil Nadu Farmers Association President, Periyasamy, Thirugnanasambantham, VR Palanisamy, Kongu Farmers Association Krishnasamy, Kanagaratnam, Makkal Athigaram, Rajan, Tamil Nadu Farmers Association, Loganathan and others.
