Corporation Commissioner inspects the MGR Vegetable Market at Mettupalayam Road.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the MGR Vegetable Market at Mettupalayam Road, West Zone, Coimbatore and asked the traders to maintain cleanliness in the market.
He enquired about the details of the vehicles entering the market to transport vegetables in the area and the time of entry and exit of the vehicles. He said the vehicles should not be parked inside for more than 6 hours and the traders should keep the market clean and collect the garbage in tins and give it to the sanitary workers.

The Commissioner said that the premises should be kept clean and vegetable waste should not be dumped everywhere.

He then visited the vegetable market at the Mettupalayam road bus stand in Coimbatore which was temporarily relocated due to the spread of coronavirus infection. As the buses currently stop outside the bus stand. The onion market of MGR market operating in the entryway is shifted to vacant land in the north. He insisted that everyone must wear a face mask and follow social distancing. During the inspection, West Zone Assistant Commissioner AJ Senthil Arasan, Project Engineer (Smart City Project) Saravanakumar, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran and Corporation officials were present.
