Steady increase in aircraft movement at Coimbatore International Airport during November!

Officials assure all support would be given to airlines to increase the operations.



Coimbatore: Steady growth has been witnessed in the aircraft movements at the Coimbatore Airport. Post Covid-19 outbreak, the airport at Coimbatore is yet to return fully back to normalcy. All domestic and international flights were closed as a part of the lockdown during Covid-19 pandemic.

But each month since the flight services have been opened up, there has been a steady growth witnessed both in passenger and aircraft movements. As per the official data released by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), passenger footfall has increased from 4,511 during May 2020 to 76,470 during October.

Now AAI has released the official datas of Aircraft movements at Coimbatore International Airport. As per that information, During June totally 344 flights were operated which gradually started increasing in July (493), August (576), September (767), October (899) and during November it has further increased to 936 flights.

This steady growth has given some hope amidst both the airliners and the passengers. Coimbatore International Airport officials said, "It's really happy to know that both the passengers and the aircraft companies are continuing to witness a steady growth. From our side we continue to give all the support possible to all the airlines in increasing the flight operations. 'Go AIR' is much interested in starting their services soon at the Coimbatore airport and from our side we are ready to support them with all kinds of help they need.

 Indigo Airlines have added one more service between Coimbatore and Chennai. Air India is also getting ready to add their services. All these initiatives give us hope to believe normalcy would soon return at Coimbatore Airport."
