Coimbatore police have now arrested 3 members who robbed around ₹1,50,000 from 3 people at the DMK public meeting held in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: At the DMK public meeting which happened 2 days before in Kurichi, Sundarapuram, ₹1,50,000 was stolen from 3 people.
DMK MP Kanimozhi spoke at the public meeting held by the party in Kurichi, Sundarapuram. A huge crowd of general public along with DMK party members attended the public meeting which happened day before yesterday.
During the meeting it was reported that money from DMK party members Muthalif (₹30,000), Manikandan (₹1,15,000) and Sivamani (₹2000) was robbed by an unknown group of robbers.
A total amount of Rs. 1,47,000 was robbed by the gang who then fled the scene.
The three party members after realising their money had gone missing, checked the CCTV footage and other phone videos to find their money being robbed by 3 robbers.
With the help of the video footage, the robbers were identified as Alagesan (27), Sivakumar (30) and Karthikeyan (27) from Sundarapuram.
The 3 men who were then found hiding spot were caught by the party members with the help of public and were handed over to the police officials.
The police department have now taken the 3 robbers into their custody and are further investigating about retrieving the money which was robbed.
