Post the meeting with officials Minister SP Velumani met with the press and said that DMK's women's wing secretary Kanimozhi only talks what I-PAC (election advisory company for DMK) says her to talk. He also said that Kanimozhi's blame on AIADMK building new bridges in Coimbatore is baseless and that they are built to reduce the amount of traffic in the city.
He also said that the government officials are in discussion on the steps to be taken to reduce congestion while the bridge is under construction.
Minister SP Velumanisaid that "Coimbatore district plays a major role in the technology based development in Tamilnadu and that the inauguration of the new building today at the Tidel Park near Hope College by Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy is the next leap forward.
With the development of a new Tidel Park in Coimbatore more than 20 thousand people will be directly employed and more than 40 thousands people will be employed indirectly."
Further speaking Minister SP Velumani said that "the new Tidel Park that is being built at an area of 2 acres and that the estimated budget for this new project is around 114.16 Crores.
AIADMK party focuses on serving people always unlike the DMK party who meet people only at the time of elections. The 5 government institutions in Coimbatore and a world class government hospital were built by the AIADMK government."
He then questioned the opposition on what the DMK government has done to the people of Coimbatore.
"The current government has given importance to the Metro Rail project and the Smart City project in Coimbatore and all the accusations of corruption made by Kanimozhi are completely false.
The Indian government has allocated funds to clean and revive the Noyyal river and many lakes and ponds in the city are well maintained which helps in saving rainwater. The public who were staying near the flood prone zone in Coimbatore have been evacuated."
Minister SP Velumani also said that Coimbatore Zone will always be AIADMK's fort and that delta areas and cities like Chennai, Thiruvallur, Madurai and Northern districts are also now backing Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy.
