Institution of Valuers and Valuer’s Foundation jointly host two day Valuer's Congress at Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Institution of Valuers(IOV) in association with registered valuers foundation host 51st Indian Valuers Congress, a two day event at Jennys Residency hotel, todayand tomorrow.
Institution of Valuers(IOV) president, PKThiyagarajan during the press meet said, "Every year IOV is conducting the Indian Valuers Congress in major cities across the country which will deliberate on state of the art in Valuation and trends in Valuation practices.
This year the 51st Indian Valuers Congress (IVS 2020) is being held in Coimbatore which is one of the important centers of IOV in a fast-developing economic hub of the country.This is the first time the IVC is held in a Tier II city in southern India and it is a proud moment for Coimbatore that a truly national professional event in the Valuation sector is happening in our hometown."
He said, "This also shows the importance of IOV is providing to emerging economic hubs for the promotion of professionalism in Valuation. Despite the pandemic, around 200 delegates have registered for the physical IVC and a similar number of delegates are participating in the Online program of the IOV which is telecast all over India.This is the first time two eminent speakers from International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) which is the leading International Standards formulating body, are presenting papers on BASEL III norms for banking regulation and challenges in mortgage valuations for banks.
The two-day event is the first of its kind in this part of the country which is not only pride for Coimbatore but also a great opportunity for all the professional valuers to participate and upscale their skills in the Valuation of assets."
He further added, "At present there are 30,000 members in our association which includes more than 3,000 valuers in Tamil nadu and Puducherry. Only those with 10 years experience can be a member. In order to take our profession to the next level, we have drafted "Valuers Bil 2020". This act would provide for the establishment of an institute to promote the development of and to regulate the profession of valuers and market for valuation services and also to protect the interest of users of valuation services in India."
He also said, "There is a big scope in this sector for the youngsters like any other profession course and we have already taken various initiatives to create awareness among the college students through MOU,s interaction meetings, awareness campaigns etc. We would also take steps to be active in all social media platforms which would act as a bridge between the peoples of all sectors and the Valuers."
IOV, Coimbatore branch, Chairman, Adaikkalavan and many others were also present during the press meet. More than 12 speakers including 2 International Valuation experts are presenting papers during the two-day event on contemporary topics and deliberate on emerging challenges and trends in valuation of different kinds of assets.
