Coimbatore: In an earlier incident that was reported by SimpliCity which happened on 5th of December, Nagarathinam (40) from Trichy who was travelling to Sharjah, surrendered his suitcase to the airport police officials as he doubted something illegal inside the suitcase he was carrying.
Coimbatore: In an earlier incident that was reported by SimpliCity which happened on 5th of December, Nagarathinam (40) from Trichy who was travelling to Sharjah, surrendered his suitcase to the airport police officials as he doubted something illegal inside the suitcase he was carrying.
Upon further investigation and checking done by the police department, it was revealed that the suitcase carried by Nagarathinam had about 2 kg and 200 grams of drugs.
Nagarathinam told the police officials that the suitcase was given to him by his friends Alibhai (46) and Arul (40) and that he did not know about the content inside the suitcase.
Ganapathy based Narcotics Prevention Police filed a case about this incident and was in search of Alibhai and Arul.
The police officials have now arrested Arul who was hiding near Trichy. Upon investigating him, Arul confessed that the drugs were given to him from an unknown person whom he hadn't met and that he tried to smuggle the drugs using Nagarathinam as he was greedy over the money offered to do this.
