Serial robbery in Coimbatore: Commissioner orders to form special team of 30 policemen
Coimbatore: In view of the ongoing serial robbery and house break-ins, the City Police Commissioner, Sumit Sharan has ordered to form a special police team consisting of 30 policemen to put an end to robbery.
Recently, multiple burglary and thefts inareas around Singanallur and Peelamedu has left the residents of the city in panic. While patrolling has been intensified during nights, the incidents of burglary and mobile thefts are on the rise.
To reassure people and nab the offenders, 30 new policemen have been appointed under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (Law&Order) Stalin, upon the orders of City Commissioner.
The team includes 10 policemen from armed forces. The team will continue to monitor locked houses in high-risk areas including Singanallur and Peelamedu. Apart from this, they will carry intensive patrolling throughout the city at night hours. Also anyone who is found to be suspicious, will be interrogated, said police sources.
