Coimbatore: As part of the ongoing DMK's Vidiyalai Nokki campaign, DMK Women's Wing Secretary and Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi addressed the party cadres in Coimbatore, today.
Speaking to the press at a private hotel in Peelamedu, MP Kanimozhi said thattruth is people are disgusted with AIADMK on all accounts and eagerly waiting for DMK to rule. Criticising sharply on the projects proposed by AIADMK, she slammed in the name of Noyyal restoration, no progress has been achieved.
"The Noyyal river continues to be polluted andencroached. The poor public are blank on what the AIADMK means by rejuvenating the Noyyal and how the funds are used to reclaim the historic Noyyal river", she accused.
She challenged, if AIADMK can declare a white paper on the ongoing Kudimamarathu works and slammed that the AIADMK is an incompetent government to execute projects.
The MP criticised that Coimbatore district has seen no development in the last two regimes of the AIADMK government. "Actually, the district has not developed. Only those who are close to AIADMK have developed here", she slammed.
She said unnecessary personal slandering is not healthy amid political parties, however the recent issue was triggeredby AIADMK. She said, "Edappadi Palanisamy supports the controversialfarm bills for the sole reason of retaining his CM post. The laws should berepealed for the welfare of the farmers."
When questioned, if TMDK would join their alliance, she said they will have to decide on that. She added that there is no need to comment on Rajinikanth's political announcement, as he has not come into politics yet, he has just announced, as usual.
When asked, if MK Alagiri would float a seperate party, she replied that anyone can start a party. "There was no need to respond to the launch of the new party by Alagiri and that nothing could stop Stalin from becoming the Chief Minister."
When asked about Minister Kadambur Raju's warning to cut off hands of those who try to disrupt Jayalalithaa memorial, she replied that AIADMK knew nothing but violence.
She said the party leadership would decide on the distribution of seats with the Congress close to the elections. MP Kanimozhi clarified there was no difference of opinion between the DMK-Congress alliance, due to their differing opinions on the release of the seven accused in the Rajiv Gandhi assasination case.
Replying to Deputy CM, O Panneerselvam's promise statement on empowering power in their regime for2.5 years, the DMK Women's Wing said that lets talk about it, if they win.
