TN CM is the only CM of non-BJP ruling state supporting farm bills, slams MP Kanimozhi in Pollachi

DMK Women's Wing Secretary and Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi commenced her rally in support of DMK in "Vidiyalai Nokki" campaign in Pollachi On Wednesday.

Coimbatore: As part of the ongoing DMK's "Vidiyalai Nokki" campaign, DMK Women's Wing Secretary and Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi interacted with the farmers in Pollachi region and assured that DMK will always stand in solidarity with all farmers-related issues.

Today morning, MP Kanimozhi met with the villagers of the Valandhampalayam Village near Pollachi and listened to theirgrievances and pleas. In an interaction session, the farmers of the region requested to complete the Anamalai - Nallaru River irrigation project which has been left out from the Parambikulam-Aliyar irrigation scheme.

They also requested MP Kanimozhi to facilitate the total purchase rate of milk and setting up of a Coconut Plantation Board, to fix the base price for tender coconuts etc.

MP Kanimozhi who later addressed the gathering said that by giving consent to the Centre's electricity bill, which was then opposed by Late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the Edappadi Palanisamy government has put the free electricity scheme in jeopardy. She also alleged that the government has meted out injustice to the people and the party members for being loyal to them.

Further, speaking MP Kanimozhi recalled that it was the DMK government that cancelled Rs. 7,000 crore agricultural loans. She assured that as in the past, the DMK will always support the farmers against the new agricultural reform bill which mortgages the livelihood of the farmers to the corporates. She also accused the AIADMK government for defrauding in farmers schemes.

Later, during her address DMK MP Kanimozhi said that Edapadi Palanisamy is the only Chief Minister who is supporting the bill in a non BJP ruling state. She also accused that the women Self Help Group (SFG) introduced by the DMK government has been left to lurch in the AIADMK regime. Owing to which, the women from poor economic backgrounds are in trouble. They are asked to pay interests for SFG loans even during lockdown, she accused.

MP Kanimozhi told the farmers and the public that after the 2021 assembly elections, there will be a change in the government and all their grievances will be resolved.
