Income tax raid at Office of Chettinad Group in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Buildings and offices belonging to the Chettinad Group in cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai are being raided by the Income tax officials, since 8 in the morning.


Coimbatore: Buildings and offices belonging to the Chettinad Group in cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai are being raided by the Income tax officials, since 8 in the morning.

According to reports, over 200 officials are involved in this raid which is allegedly based on a complaint of tax evasion by the Chettinad Group.

As a part of the raid happening across major cities, the Chettinad Builders office building in Racecourse was also under raid by a team of 15 income tax officials since 8 AM, today.

Reports say that phones belonging to all the staff were confiscated by the authorities and documents are being scrutinised.

However, there is no official confirmation from the officials from Income tax, if any documents or cash has been confiscated.
