37 arrested during protests to support farmers in Delhi by opposition parties led by Congress
Coimbatore: 37 arrested in a protest to support farmers in Delhi by opposition parties led by Congress. The Communist Party of India, DMK, MDMK and Congress staged a protest in front of the Valparai Municipal Office in support of the ongoing farmers' strike in Delhi.

Protestors raised slogans urging repeal of new education policy and urging the withdrawal of all three new agricultural laws introduced by the central government against farmers.

The protest was attended by various party leaders, volunteers and members of the public, including the Congress, DMK and the Communist Party of India. 37 people who attended the protest have been arrested and are being held in a private wedding hall. Several policemen were deployed for security duty headed Valparai Police Inspector Maheshwari and Sub-Inspector Satish.
