Coimbatore: Police are searching for three teenagers who snatched a 3 sovereign piece of jewelery from a young woman near Sulur in Coimbatore.
Vivekananda hails from Papampatti Senthur near Coimbatore. His wife Kaushalya, 30, went to a local grocery store with her child on the day of the incident.
Later, she bought supplies and walked home. Then, 3 teenagers on a motorcycle came that way. They approached Kaushalya, showed her a visiting card and asked for her address. The woman was also reading the address with great interest with the intention of helping.
Meanwhile, teenagers snatched the 3 sovereign gold necklace that Kaushalya was wearing around her neck. The shocked woman struggled to catch the chain. The youths then threatened to kill her with a knife and fled.
Later, Kaushalya lodged a complaint with the Sulur police. Police have registered a case under Section 379 and are looking for three teenagers who snatched the chain.
