Coimbatore: Disabled elderly man along with grandson petitioned to District Collector for being allotted a house under Slum Clearance Board. The couple from the Keeranatham Kallukuli area of Coimbatore met the District Collector todayand filed a petition. Their petition states that their five-year-old grandson was paralyzed below the waist after his son and daughter-in-law were killed in a road accident in 2018. He said that he was living in a rented house and was taking care of his grandson and could not go to work due to old age.

He said he was forced to vacate as his grandson had uncontrolled bladder and bowels as he lost his function below the waist after the accident. He alleged that he shifted to several houses because of this and now requested a house for themselves through the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board Housing project.
