Students attended college today post the eighth month lockdown due to Covid-19
Coimbatore: Due to Covid - 19 virus terror, the government has ordered the shutting down of shops, schools, offices , colleges etc. Since the cases of positive infection were on the decline since last month, the government still wanted educational institutions closed keeping the safety of the students in mind.
While the classes for students in schools and colleges are conducted online, lot of students from remote villages suffered by this decision to study online.
Finally the number of new cases in Tamilnadu being dropped, the government of TamilNadu has decided to reopen colleges by following strict guidelines and conditions.
With regards to this, Bharathiyar University and it's affiliated colleges have opened classes for students from today. As a precautionary measure sanitizers andthermometers for temperature checks were kept at the main entrance of colleges. Face masks were made compulsory for all students and were seated by maintaining social distancing.
Since most students who study in the colleges in Pollachi are from remote villages, the students are really happy that the college is finally opened.
The students who came to the colleges today and their parents requested the government to increase the frequency and number of buses from their villages to the college as they found the commute difficult.
