To avoid any untoward incidents, on the orders of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Sumit Charan, 1,000 policemen are on high alert at important places of worship in the Coimbatore metropolitan area and 1,200 policemen are on high alert in the district areas on the orders of the District SP.
At the Coimbatore railway station, passengers' belongings are allowed to enter only after an intensive search with the help of a metal detector.
