Coimbatore: Farmers unions and the Communist Party, protest in Pollachi against agriculture reform bill. There was a commotion between the police and the protesters and more than 100 people were arrested.
Various political parties and farmers across the country are actively involved in the struggle against the agriculture reform bill passed by the central government.

Communist parties and farmers' unions, led by former Valparai legislator Arumugam (Communist), staged a protest in front of the Pollachi headquarters, condemning the police attack on struggling farmers in the nation’s capital Delhi, and demanding the withdrawal of the agriculture reform bill.
They said the Chief Minister has been saying that the Agriculture reform Bill will not affect the farmers and the bill introduced by the Central Government will have a huge impact on the farmers. They urged the Tamil Nadu government should urge the central government to repeal it.

Slogans were raised against the Central Government, and they suddenly engaged in a road roko in front of the Pollachi Central Bus Stand.

This caused a commotion between the police and the protesters, including DSP Sivakumar when the police tried to arrest them. Police later arrested more than 100 protesters.
