Pollachi: In a major development, the President of KOPMA along with few industrialists met Dr. R. Mahendran of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) in Pollachi, today to discuss the prospects of contesting with the support of MNM.

In a recent surprising announcement, the Kovai Power Driven Pumps and Spares Manufacturers Association (KOPMA) President, K.Maniraj revealed his association's decision to contest in the upcoming 2021 Tamil Nadu State elections. He said that the decision comes after the association along with few industrialists are tired of fighting with the government for their industrial sector of this region.
Briefing on the meet, Maniraj, KOPMA President said that he along with 20 other industrialists from Coimbatore met Dr. R. Mahendran, VP of MNM, today. The discussion was focussed on the present volatile political climate in the State and and KOPMA's decision to contest in the 2021 assembly elections.

During the meet, we were glad to learn that MNM has a clear understanding of the problems faced by the reeling industrial sector of this region and aware of the practical problems faced by the industrialists, due to poor government policies and long-pending pleas.
Our idea to contest in the upcoming elections was conceived to put an end to the step-motherly treatment by all governments towards the industrial sector of this region. So far, our electoral decision has garnered good response from the public and fellow industrialists, told Mr. Maniraj.

He added that today's meet with MNM's VP has been very fruitful and as we share a common vision, KOPMA has decided to jointly work with them in the upcoming elections.
