Coimbatore: 2 youths have been arrested for robbing and threatening a man with a knife. Easwaran (56), resident of Angaliamman Road, Irugur runs a streetside shop in the locality.
Coimbatore: 2 youths have been arrested for robbing and threatening a man with a knife. Easwaran (56), resident of Angaliamman Road, Irugur runs a streetside shop in the locality. Last week night when Easwaran was walking near the railway tracks in SIHS Colony to meet his friends in singanallur to give some money, he was suddenly stopped by 2 youths who threatened Easwaran by putting a knife over his neck. The robbers snatched INR 10,000 which Easwaran had in hand and fled from the scene immediately. Easwaran who was shocked by this incident has now filed a complaint with the Singanallur police station who registered the case and are investigating it.
Inspector Rajkumar of Singanallur police station who was on rounds along with the patrol team in Irugur, saw two teenagers drinking alcohol who immediately tried to run on seeing the arrival of policemen.
Upon further investigation after catching them it was revealed that Shankar (25) from Singanallur and Sivakumar (24) from Irugur were the robbers who had extorted money from Easwaran by threatening him with a knife. It was also revealed that there were various pending cases against the two at Singanallur and Peelamedu police stations, including robbery and assault. The police then registered a case against them and sentenced them to jail.
