CII Coimbatore organise two days virtual Fourth Edition of National Higher Education Conclave (NHEC) 2020

He said that research is mandatory in undergraduate level, vocational and skill based education is the need of the hour. Indian educational institutions should go for a complete transformation, there is a need to completely change the teaching and research techniques and major changes are needed in the higher education front. He mentioned that ultimately the purpose of education is enlightening the people; education is not just expected only in terms of revenue, but to develop the livelihoods of people, develop the weakest of weaker, empower the poor and enlighten every citizen in the nation."

He also stated that in order to ensure the constitutional guarantees to all, liberty of each and every citizen must be respected. Developing the marginalised community through education and all people in the society must be given dignity and worth. He spoke on the real concern of higher education which should focus on the concern of access, education to all at affordable cost and right to equity and quality education. He also spoke on the challenges in education such as infrastructure, appropriate government policies, quality of teaching and research and mentioned that these challenges should be focussed immediately and the destiny of the country is in the classroom."

"All stakeholders should address the current issues in the educational field. Globalization and geographical boundaries brought many changes in education, but culture must be respected. Educational allotment should be linked into the GDP of a nation. Integration in medical education should be focussed. He also focussed on educational research, outcome, based education, public and private partnership."

J. Ganesh Kumar, Chairman, CII, Coimbatore Zone and Managing Director, Indo Shell Cast Pvt Ltd, delivered the welcome remarks and Mr Arjun Prakash, Vice Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, President, Effica Automation proposed the closing remarks. Dr R. Nandini, Chairperson, NHEC 2020 and Founder Trustee, GRG Trust delivered the theme address and stated that, Indian educational institutions should go for international ranking and a new approach is also needed in higher education.

S Malarvizhi, Co-Chairperson, NHEC 2020 and Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions also spoke and said that during this pandemic, new education policy is coming, the major challenges at this time is to cope up the present situations and placements to the students. The two days conclave will have a panel discussion on various topics in which eminent speakers will deliver the special address.
