Pollachi sex case: CBI allowed permission to examine voice samples of accused
Coimbatore: The infamous Pollachi sex case has moved to the stage where CBI has now been allowed permission to examine voice samples of the accused.
Thirunavukarasu, Sabarirajan, Vasanthakumar, Satish and Manivannan were arrested in a case of sexual harassment against young girls and college students in Pollachi, Coimbatore district.
5 people are lodged in Salem jail. The case is currently being investigated by the CBI. A petition was filed in the Coimbatore District Women's Court on behalf of the CBI seeking permission to examine the voice samples of 5 persons arrested in this case.
The petition came up for hearing yesterday before Judge Radhika in charge. The five accused were then produced in court. The judge hearing the case granted permission to examine the voice samples of five people in connection with the case. Following this, 5 people will be taken to Chennai for examination of voice samples and they are going to collect voice samples at the forensic research center there and inquire whether the audio and video recordings captured during the incident match the voice. The CBI said that this would take the case to the next level.
