Manager arrested for defrauding ₹75 lakh by selling goods making fake receipts
Coimbatore: A man has been arrested for preparing fake receipts in the name of a company he worked for in Coimbatore and selling goods worth up to Rs 75 lakh.
Senthilkumar is a resident of Coimbatore RS Puram. He runs a wholesale business of water purification components under the name Pure India. He also runs a men's clothing store called Cotton India.
In his company, Veeraperumal (42), who lives in the Appanaickenpalayam area of Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, worked as a manager for many years. It has been revealed that Veerapperumal has registered his address under the name of Aqua Pure, created a fake receipt and sold goods in the shop and has been involved in a scam of up to Rs 75 lakh. Senthilkumar lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore Crime Branch Police and on orders of Commissioner Sumit Saran, the crime branch police formed a team and went in search of Veeraperumal.
They received a tipoff yesterday that Veeraperumal was present at the Saibaba Colony office. Following this, they surrounded the office and arrested Veeraperumal. They then filed a fraud case and produced him in Criminal Justice No. 7 Court and remanded him in custody.
