Coimbatore: Leftist parties announce series of protest until farm bill is repealed.

A meeting of the Left wing parties has decided to hold a series of protests in Coimbatore demanding the immediate repeal of the anti-agriculture laws of the Modi government. Several farmers are protesting in the capital, Delhi, against anti-agricultural laws. The central Modi government has been working to suppress the protests without respecting the sentiments of the farmers. Protests are taking place across the country condemning this, the left-wing parties have been involved in major struggles.
This was followed by a consultative meeting of the leaders of the Communist Party of India and the Marxist Communist Party in Coimbatore on Thursday, chaired by Coimbatore MP PR Natarajan. VS Sundaram, District Secretary of the Communist Party of India, V. Ramamurthy, District Secretary of the Communist Party of India, C. Padmanabhan, Member of the State Committee, Sivasamy, Devaraj, Executive Committee of the Communist Party of India and S. Karuppaiya, Member of the District Executive Committee of the Marxist Party were present at the meeting held at the Marxist Party District Committee Office in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. N. Jayapalan and other leaders also participated. It was decided to protest to withdraw the anti-agricultural bills, and to negotiate with the farmers.
It was decided to hold a series of road roko protests on behalf of the leftist parties, emphasizing on not to oppress the farmers. In the first phase, it was decided to hold protests on December 5 in Pollachi, December 7 in Annur, December 8 in Coimbatore Gandhipuram, December 8 in Mettupalayam, December 9 in Sulur Papampatti division and Sultanpet.
