Coronavirus prevention measures ramped up in 10 places in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Coronavirus prevention measures ramped up in 10 places in Coimbatore including Podanur, Ramanathapuram and Peelamedu.
The corona infection, which had spread rapidly in Coimbatore district, is now slowly declining. Meanwhile, District Collector Rajamani said that measures are being taken to control the coronavirus in Coimbatore and only few infections occur in some places.
However, coronavirus infection has increased slightly in 10 places in Podanur, Ramanathapuram, Ondiputhur, Peelamedu, Saravanampatti, Ganapathy, Sowripalayam, Selvapuram, Kalapatti and Singanallur in Coimbatore. So, these places are being monitored as coronavirus infection is found in 5 to 9 people.
Active monitoring is taking place in these areas and currently there are 13 isolated areas in Coimbatore district. Of these, 12 are in Coimbatore town and in Narasimhanaickenpalayam is the only isolated area in the rural area. Despite the decline in coronavirus infections, between 4,000 and 4,500 coronavirus tests with 3.4 percent of these cases to be positive. The district currently has a mortality rate of 1.25 percent. The district administration official said steps are being taken to bring this down to less than one per cent and the number of infections below 100 per cent.
He also added that strict action is taken against companies that do not follow the coronavirus infection prevention guidelines. Individuals who do not wear a mask continue to be fined. There is no plan to isolate who have been tested positive in their homes. Coronavirus prevention work is being intensified.
