Man who robbed woman by threatening with a knife nabbed in Ondipudur


Coimbatore: The culprit who robbed woman by threatening with a knife was arrested. Deepa is the wife of Vijay, a resident of Surya Nagar, Ondipudur, Singanallur, Coimbatore.

He was traveling in a car with his friend near Matriculation School in Mahatma Gandhi Road on the night of the 27th.



Unidentified persons who came that way then snatched the TV, laptop, cell phone, money and all the cars they were driving, claiming that they would kill him by threatening with a knife.

Deepa lodged a complaint with the Singanallur police regarding the incident. The police registered a case under sections 387, 506 (2), TNPHW act and on the orders of Assistant Commissioner of Police Easwaran, Inspector Rajkumar with the help of Sub-Inspector Arjun Kumar set up a special unit to search for the culprits. During vehicle inspection yesterday afternoon, they caught a person near Ondipudur and interrogated him.

In it he confessed to robbing Deepa. Sivakumar (30), a resident of Koothanpalayam in Tirupur district, was arrested and remanded in custody last night. A cell phone, laptop, car and Rs 15,000 cash were confiscated from him. Police are searching for the culprits who are in hiding.
