9th grade girl student from Coimbatore abducted with false promise of marriage
Coimbatore: The police are on the lookout for a 20-year-old youth who allegedly abducted a minor girl over promise of marriage.
A native of Thoothukudi, Kotta Kurichi, is working in a mill at RG Puthur, next to Chinniyampalayam, Coimbatore. He resides at the mill quarters with his wife and two daughters. A couple of days ago, his eldest daughter, a ninth grade student went missing. Later, they received a phone call from the girl who informed that she has been abducted by her neighbour.
Following which, the father of the minor girl lodged a complaint with Peelamedu police who are in search of a man named Nagaraj (20) who is the neighbour of this family and allegedly lured the minor girl over promise of marriage.
Preliminary investigations reveal, the girl was staying at home and pursuing her online classes. Nagaraj (20), a mill worker who lives next door, befriended the minor girl. Nagaraj allegedly brainwashed the girl saying he was in love and wanted to get married to her. The student who trusted his words continued to be in a relationship with him. And, on Tuesday, the girl reportedly went missing.
The Peelamedu Police have registered a case and are tracing the whereabouts of the place to rescue the student and arrest the man for abducting a minor.
