Differently-abled arrested for protesting in front Tirupur District Collectorate
Tirupur: A group of differently-abled people were arrested for protesting in front of Tirupur District Collectorate on Wednesday. He protested demanding various pleas for the betterment of the physically challenged people including monthly financial assistance of Rs. 5000.

They protested demanding that the Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Persons with Disabilities should provide a monthly relief of Rs. 5,000 to disabled people. They alleged that they had to run pillar to post to seek identity cards which are required to avail the benefits announced by the government including free housing units.

During the protest held opposite to the District Collector's Office, the differently-abled people highlighted their plight and sought to fulfil their various demands, including 4 percent reservation in private companies.
As the protest without permission, the police arrested the protestors and took them to a private wedding hall.
