Upon interrogation, the man was identified as Nataraj (35) from Devarayanpalayam. He revealed that he had purchased the gun for hunting and had misplaced all the permit documents pertaining to the gun.
After the cops examined the gun, they realised that no permits are required for carrying the type of gun and hence returned the gun in custody to the owner. This incident caused a stir at the police station.
