Treatment begins for injured elephant in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve
The Nilgiris: Upon directives from Srikanth, Deputy Director of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR) of the Nilgiris district, the forest department has commenced treatment for the injured elephant found in a wounded state near Singara in MTR.
Recently, the pachyderm was spotted wandering at Singara area with injuries in its back. Under the supervision of Forest Officer Kanthan, Veterinarian Rajesh Kumar has started administering drugs mixed in fruits.
The forest officials said that based on the response, the medical team would decide further course of treatment.
