Tirupur: Over 100 residents of Vallalar Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Mookambika Nagar, Jayalalithaa Nagar, Sabari Nagar in the 52nd Ward of Tirupur Corporation staged a sit-in-peotest demanding basic amenities.
Tirupur: Over 100 residents of Vallalar Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Mookambika Nagar, Jayalalithaa Nagar, Sabari Nagar in the 52nd Ward of Tirupur Corporation staged a sit-in-peotest demanding basic amenities. All protestors were arrested.

Even after repeated demands to the corporation administration to repair street lights and timely clearance of garbage, no action has been initiated, the enraged residents alleged. As all their pleas fell in deaf ears, they decided to garner the attention of the officials by staging a sit-in-protest on the busy Tirupur -Dharapuram Road, today.

As permission was denied by the police for the protest, the residents were arrested for causing public nuisance. Among the arrested waa a one-year-old child. The residents were disappointed, as police failed to adhere Covid norms and dumped all 40 plus people in a single van during the arrest.
