On December 2, 2019, a wall of a luxury bungalow collapsed in the early hours in the Mettupalayam Nadur AT Colony area of Coimbatore district, leaving 17 people, including women and children, who got trapped and died.
Samooga Neethi Katchi and Viduthalai Siruthaigal members arrested for paying homage to 17 victims who died after the wall crashed. More than 30 members were detained by police as they tried to pay their respects defying police ban on the event citing law and order problems.
