Mother and daughter consume poison due to mother's incurable abdominal pain; mother dies
Coimbatore: Mother and daughter who consumed poison died tragically in Coimbatore. Chandrasekhar (age 50) is private company employee from Vetrilaikarar street, Kuniamuthur, Coimbatore. His wife is Selvarani (42) and their daughter is Keerthi (16) are studying in class IX.
Selvarani was suffering from severe abdominal pain and was getting treated in several places. But she did not get cured. Frustrated by this she decided to end her life. But she did not want to leave her daughter behind and told her about this.
The daughter also agreed tragically to commit suicide with her mother. The two people drank cow dung powder at home last evening. Chandrasekhar came home at night after going to work. He was shocked to find his wife and daughter foaming at the mouth.
Neighbors rescued the two and rushed them to a private hospital. Selvarani died tragically as treatment failed and his daughter Keerthi is being given intensive treatment. The Kuniamuthur police have registered a case under Section 174 and are conducting an investigation.
