Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspected the rain affected areas in Kuniamuthur, south zone.
Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special officer P. Kumaravel Panddian inspected the South Zone areas including Kuniamuthur. Sundakkamuthur Main Road, Lakshmi Nagar, Vetri Thiru nagar and Vasantham garden areas which were affected due to heavy rains.
He said that the water must be pumped out through the motor pumps to drain the accumulated rainwater and also said that in low-lying areas, the soil should be dumped to drain rainwater.
He ordered the concerned offices to carry out these tasks immediately. He then visited Sengulam and inspected the water levels. He inspected the Cholan Nagar area to see if there were any blockages in the canal through which the rainwater passed.
Deputy Corporation Commissioner S. Madurantaki,City Engineer Lakshmanan, Executive Engineer Gnanavelu, South zone Assistant Commissioner Ravi, Assistant Engineer Sundaraj, South Zone Health Officer Loganathan and other Corporation officials were present.
