Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspected the cleaning works and the isolated areas in the city


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspected the cleaning works and isolated areas in the city.

Commissioner said, the spread of coronavirus infection is currently declining due to the Coimbatore Corporation taking various preventive measures to curb the spread of coronavirus infection. He inspected isolated areas in the Parson Pamlogen in Ondipudur, East Zone. He said isolated areas should be sprayed regularly with disinfectant and those who are isolated should not leave the house until the end of the isolated period. He said everyone must wear face masks and follow the social distancing and clean their homes with disinfectant in the morning and evening.

He told the concerned officials to make necessary arrangements for the availability of vegetables, milk and groceries to the people in the isolated area. He enquired field workers in the area the details of the door-to-door inspection for cold, flu and cough tests. He then enquired about drinking water in Singanallur and Subramaniam Pillai Road. He said the corporation should be kept clean by dumping the garbage only in the bins instead of dumping it on the roadside. He said everyone must wear a mask and follow social distancing. He said that in the areas of Boyar Street, Chellandiamman Temple Street and Karumbukadai Ground, that the garbage should be sorted as compostable garbage and non-compostable garbage before handing over to the sanitary workers. He also instructed the Aavin milk booth in the area to dump the rubbish in the bin instead of dumping it on the roadside.



He ordered the removal of billboards previously placed on roadside restaurants in nearby Kamaraj road and bus stand and the restaurant was fined.



He asked the owners of restaurants, butcher shops, fish shops and tea shops in the area to dump their garbage in the bins and deliver them to sanitary workers‌.



He said a fine will be imposed for those who do not wear face masks and do not follow social distancing.

M. Murugan, Assistant Commissioner, East Zone, Gnanavelu, Executive Engineer, Prabhakaran, Assistant Chief Engineer, Chandran, Zonal Health Officer and Supervisors of the Corporation were present during the inspection.
