Tirupur: A petition was filed at the District Collectorate to take action against members who stopped landowners from building houses in their lands citing they were outsiders.
The land in Therkuavanasipalayam area of Tirupur district was made into a layout and named after Kalaignar Karunanidhi Nagar. Balasubramaniam, who sold over 60 houses from the private sector and registered them with the Registrar's Office.
More than 50 homeowners who have purchased homes have been trying for the past 10 years to build houses there. But some people in the area have claimed that they are outsiders and hence have prevented them from building houses from being built. Also it is alleged that those who build houses defying them are facing issues as the houses are being demolished by them.
The lands are now covered with thorns and bushes. Affected people have petitioned at the Tirupur District Collector's Office to take action against them and provide security to build houses on the purchased land.
