Coimbatore: Car theft gang who threatened with knives arrested near Coimbatore.
11 cars were confiscated. Early this morning, Madukkarai police inspected a Maruti car parked in the area while on patrol in Apple Garden, Arisipalayam Madukkarai. The 6 people in the car fled. 3 of them were rounded up and arrested by the police. The car was confiscated and also knives and ropes were found.

Upon investigation it was revealed that it was Surendran (23) who lives in Kulasekara area of Thoothukudi district, Shakthi (23) who lives in Madukkarai Eachanari area and Nanguneri Vijayaraj (23) from Tirunelveli.
Sadiq, Imran, who runs an auto workshop at the Eachanari Sundarapuram junction, and six others, including Dinesh, who runs a hotel in the area rent self-driving cars to Bangalore, where they cut off the GPS from the car and sell the cars at a low price.

They had been removing expensive parts from the cars and mortaged teh cars for money. Following this, 11 cars, including an expensive Audi car, were confiscated from them. Police have set up 2 squads to nab the 3 accused. Police are also investigating whether the culprits were involved in any other criminal cases like murders or robberies. The incident has caused a stir in the area this morning.
