Coimbatore: Police have recovered the body of a man and a woman floating in a pond in Coimbatore. Kesavan (48) is from Alandur, Palakkad, Kerala, and worked for a private company there. Kesavan left the house 2 days ago saying he was going to work. But as he did not return home for a long time his family started looking for him. Kesavan who came to Coimbatore without the knowledge of his family members, jumped into the pond in Ukkadam and committed suicide.

His body floated in the pond this morning. The fishermen who went fishing there were shocked to see the body floating in the pond and informed the Big Bazaar street police. Police immediately rushed to the spot and with the help of firefighters recovered Kesavan's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. The Big Bazaar street police are investigating the cause of the suicide and have registered a case under Section 174.
In another incident the body of a 55-year-old woman was found floating in Valankulam on the Sungam Bypass Road. Passers-by who saw this informed the Ukkadam police. Police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the woman's body and sent it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Police have registered a case and are investigating whether the identity of the woman who floated ad are also investigating if it was suicide or murder.
