Coimbatore: Six people, including a young woman, committed suicide in different incidents in Coimbatore. According to the police, Murugan (45), a labourer, from Senrayanpalayam in Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore. His wife is Pavalakodi (35). Pavalakodi and her son had frequent disputes. When the dispute flared up again on the day of the incident. Frustrated by this Murugan committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his home. Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating.

Rangarajan (31), a laborer, is from Karupparayan nagar in Karamadai. He has a drinking problem and this led to frequent family disputes. Depressed by this he consumed the cow dung powder kept at home and fainted. Shocked by this, the family members rescued him and admitted him to Mettupalayam Government Hospital for treatment. But he died miserably as treatment failed. Karamadai police have registered a case and are investigating.
In another incident Navaneethan (28), a resident of Sengalipalayam, Coimbatore, has been suffering from poor health for the past few days. For that he was treated in various hospitals with no signs of recovery. Frustrated by this he committed suicide by hanging himself when no one was at home. Periyanaickenpalayam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
Kanagaraj (27) is an employee of a private company from Easwar, Vadamadurai, Coimbatore. Depressed due to family disputes, he committed suicide by drinking pesticides. Thudiyalur police have registered a case and are investigating.
Raman (81) is a labourer from Bharathi nagar, Kinathukadavu. Raman's brother died a few days ago due to ill health. Depressed by this he drank pesticide and fainted in his home. Shocked by this, his family rushed him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. But Raman died tragically as treatment failed. Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation
Christopher (36) from Rajiv Nagar, Ammankulam, Coimbatore is married and has 2 sons. Christopher has been living alone for the past two months due to a dispute with his wife. He committed suicide by hanging himself. Ramanathapuram police have registered a case and are investigating. All police stations have registered cases under Section 174 and Section 176 and are investigating.
