Dead infant girl found in Coimbatore GH toilet

Coimbatore: The incident where a baby girl was found dead in the toilet of the Coimbatore government hospital has caused great shock.

Coimbatore: The incident where a baby girl was found dead in the toilet of the Coimbatore government hospital has caused great shock.

A janitor went to the toilet in the Red Zone Accident and Emergency Unit area of Coimbatore Government Hospital this afternoon for cleaning.

To his shock he found an infant lying dead in the bathroom. He immediately told the doctors and staff there. The baby was immediately recovered from the bathroom. Examination later revealed that it was a female infant weighing 2kg and that it was dead. 

The staff was confused as to how the baby girl came to the toilet area of the accident and emergency department. The Racecourse police were then informed following this.

Later, police arrived at the scene and took control of the baby's body kicking off the investigation. For sometime this caused a bit of a stir in the GH premises as to who might have done this.
