The Nilgiris mountain train operated after 8 months for a film shoot

Nilgiris: The shooting of a Hindi film on the hill station, which has been suspended for the last 8 months due to coronavirus infection in the Nilgiris district, was operated today from Coonoor to Ooty route.

Southern Railway had canceled mountain railway service for the last 8 months due to corona infection in Nilgiris district.

In this case, the Mumbai-based Hindi film crew filmed the mountain train scenes in the Kethi railway station area between Coonoor and Ooty, following the permission of the Southern Railway to feature mountain train scenes in the Hindi WebTV series they are producing.

The train was brought to kethi railway station in the Nilgiris for a web only feature film called 'Aptop Love'. The rent for the train operation was set at two lakh rupees a day.

The crew recorded on camera that the mountain train arrived at Kathy railway station with 5 boxes fitted with the engine. Tourists and locals alike were eagerly watching the mountain train following its operation on the mountain train which has not been running for the last 8 months.

As the Kethi train station notice board was changed to say ‘shooting’, tourists returned disappointed.
