Coimbatore: As many as 2,300 houses encroached and built along the Muthannan Kulam bund have been demolished for rejuvenating the water body under the Smart City project.
Coimbatore: As many as 2,300 houses encroached and built along the Muthannan Kulam bund have been demolished for rejuvenating the water body under the Smart City project.

While all the houses has been cleared off, six offices belonging to different political and non-political organisations are being currently demolished. Of which, 2 forums each belong to AIADMK and DMK and one belong to Marxist Communist and the other one belongs to Thiruvalluvar Community Forum.

The demolition works were supervised by Ravichandran, City Town Planning Officer RS Puram B2 Police Inspector, Kanagasabapathy, tight police security was provided to` avoid any untoward incident.
Barring this, five temples along the bund area will shortly be demolished, told the corporation officials.
