Man killed in wild boar attack: Forest dept grants 3.5 lakhs compensation to victim's family
Coimbatore: Anamalai Forest department granted Rs. 3.5 lakhs to the family of the victim who was killed in a road accident after he was chased by a wild boar.
Last September, Chockalingam from Anamalai was killed when a wild boar collided with his two wheeler while he was traveling on the Valparai - Kottur section of the Pollachi Forest Reserve.
Immediately after his death, his family was given Rs. 50,000 in the allotted Rs.4 lakh compensation for any death due to animals including wild boar. The remaining relief amount of Rs. 3.50 lakhs was given to the family of the victim, today.
Arokiaraj Xavier, Deputy Director, Forest Department, presided over the function and Valparai MLA, Kasturi Vasu provided the relief amount to the victim's family. The event was attended by Field Director's Assistant Muralitharan, Forest Ranger Pugalendi, Anaimalai Union Secretary Sundaram, Somandurai Chittoor Agricultural Cooperative Society President Mahalingam and many others.
